Weight Loss Injection Minus The Injection

Let's just put this out there first. I work with some individuals who HAVE chosen the injection route. If you are already on your Mounjaro journey, still keep reading, as this can take sustainable results up a level for you! However, this is also going to show you how we can do the weight loss injection naturally, minus the injection (and the injection cost!)


Let's start with the principles of how the weight loss injections work. They mimic a hormone called GLP-1, which helps you feel fuller for longer, slows digestion and reduces appetite. However, never mind mimic, this is a hormone our body produces naturally, as we can take control of uplevelling how much it produces.


To keep this as simple as possible, I'm going to just talk you through what a day could look like on your 'no injection injection' journey..


STARTING THE DAY....

Top tips for starting your day, DON'T press snooze (this messes with your body's natural sleep cycle), get up, open the curtains for natural daylight, deep breaths, stretch and drink a glass of water. Even better, kick start with even just a few minutes exercise. Starting the body with movement to kickstart our metabolism, and water to curb that hunger is a super simple way to step up success.


BREAKFAST...

A fabulous way to start the day (and which only requires as long as making toast) is with a 3 egg omelette, with some form of veg. WHY? Eggs are a rich source of protein and monounsaturated fats, which can play a role in GLP-1 secretion. Plus research has identified egg whites as particularly beneficial for GLP-1 secretion. Having a meal with eggs can support lower post-meal blood glucose levels, reduced feelings of hunger, and decreased food intake over the next 24 hours. So, the natural version of the injection!


MID-MORNING...

An Isagenix Snack Bite with your cuppa (or even with your adaptogenic tea). Certain nuts (particularly almonds, peanuts and pistachios) have been shown to boost GLP-1 secretion. The fiber in these nuts slows digestion, leading to a gradual release of glucose into the bloodstream and a corresponding increase in GLP-1 secretion. The healthy fats in nuts also play a role, as they can help improve insulin sensitivity, which further supports the release of GLP-1. High fibre grains like oats, can also slow digestion. As the food remains in the digestive tract longer, this leads to a gradual release of glucose into the bloodstream, which triggers the release of GLP-1. So the combination of oats and peanuts in these snacks are a double whammy of 'natural injection' benefits!

LUNCH...

I love my lunchtime shake bowls - a lot of you have seen pics of these! A nutrition dense shake made thick (only water needed) then topped with a big handful of frozen blueberries and raspberries. Like an indulgent chocolate pudding! Buy yourself a big bag of almonds, of raisins and how about some high cocoa dark chocolate chips to make a mini energy boosting, mood boosting, focus boosting, craving busting, GLP-1 uplevelling tub to pick at through the afternoon. Just be mindful of it being a mini tub, even the healthiest snacks can add up, all about moderation.


DINNER...

Ideally base your meal around a generous lean meat source such as chicken, turkey or lean beef OR a fatty fish source such as salmon, tuna, mackerel or sardines. These boost GLP-1 secretion, making you feel full and reducing appetite. Take these feelings (plus overall health) next level with a few different colours of vegetables. Add a little avocado or olive oil which take GLP-1 and appetite suppressing up again!!


DAY NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT PUDDING?

Keep sliced banana in the freezer and blend a few slices with a tsp of the Isalean shake and a little milk, to make a mini serving of 'ice cream'. Or how about a couple of squares of quality dark chocolate with a decaf cuppa?
